Introduction to Fiberglass Reinforced Polyurethane (FRPu) Profiles

    Fiberglass reinforced polyurethane (FRPu) profiles feature lightweight and high strength, excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, salt spray resistance, outstanding fire performance, thermal insulation, durability in extreme cold and high temperatures, electrical insulation, zero volatile components, and low production energy consumption.

    Polyurethane composite materials are lightweight yet exceptionally strong, with a bending strength reaching up to 1442 MPa—6–8 times higher than aluminum alloys and 3–7 times higher than steel. They are widely used in automotive lightweighting, wind turbine blades, and aerospace applications.

  Compared with traditional composites, polyurethane composites offer higher strength, modulus, impact resistance, oxygen index, thermal insulation, and a lower thermal expansion coefficient.

    With low density but high strength, polyurethane can replace heavy steel components such as cross-body structural rods, load-bearing beams under seats, and vehicle pedals. This not only reduces overall vehicle weight but also improves fuel efficiency and extends the range of electric vehicles, making it a key material for automotive lightweighting.

② Outstanding Weather and Heat Resistance

    Polyurethane materials are highly resistant to corrosion and weathering, with a service life of several decades. Even in hot car interiors reaching 70–80 °C, polyurethane maintains dimensional stability with minimal deformation, making it suitable for high-load and high-temperature applications.

 ③ Thermal Insulation, Fire Resistance, and Safety

    With low thermal conductivity, polyurethane effectively insulates against external heat or engine heat, improving in-vehicle comfort. Its flame-retardant and insulating properties significantly enhance fire safety, especially for electric vehicle battery packs and electrical systems.

Introduction to Fiberglass Reinforced Polyurethane Doors and Windows


    In the field of doors and windows, FRPu profiles hold significant advantages over thermal-break aluminum and PVC. Windows and doors made from these profiles excel in thermal insulation, wind resistance, airtightness, watertightness, sound insulation, fire resistance, and corrosion resistance. The profile surface also allows various coating treatments for a wide range of finishes.

    The thermal conductivity of FRPu profiles is only 1/1300 that of aluminum, at just 0.114 W/m·K, achieving true “full thermal break” windows and doors.
